Offshore South and East Africa Oil and Gas Activity Map to 2020 presents current and future oil and gas fields and their associated infrastructure. The Offshore South and East Africa oil and gas map was produced and distributed in October 2014 with the support of a media partner, the South African Oil and Gas Alliance (SAOGA). SAOGA launched the South and East Africa map at the Africa Oil and Gas Expo 2014 in Johannesburg in October and Infield launched the map at the 21st Africa Oil Week in Cape Town. The South and East Africa map will also be showcased at other African regional events attended by SAOGA, as well as at other high profile oil and gas industry events attended by the Infield team, including: the PILOT Share Fair, Offshore South East Asia, Subsea Expo, Subsea Tiebacks and Offshore Technology Conference. The Offshore South and East Africa Oil and Gas Map includes a comprehensive market overview which provides details of fields on-stream by country and capital expenditure by water depth, as well as commentary covering key operators and key developments within this region. During the timeframe, the Republic of South Africa has the largest number of potential fields to bring on-stream in the region, most of which are small satellite tie-back fields situated in the predominantly shallow water Mossel Bay area. However, despite this, the country will be far surpassed by both Mozambique and Tanzania in terms of projected development expenditure Capex. A high proportion of the fields anticipated to be developed in Mozambique and Tanzania are located in water depths over 1,000 metres and, as such, have long development lead times. Infield Systems’ new Offshore South and East Africa Oil and Gas Activity map reflects the activity levels and interest within this increasingly important region. The map insets include: Tanzania and Mozambique, South Africa and offshore North Kenya and Somalia (extension).
