InfieldMaps offshore oil and gas mapping and data system is a unique online GIS and mapping tool designed for the offshore oil, gas, renewable energy and associated marine industries. InfieldMaps offers users a series of optional layers, both geographic and infrastructure specific in order to enable users to tailor the map image to their specific needs. InfieldMaps’ offshore oil and gas infrastructure and assets layers include details about: existing and future oil and gas fields, current operator and field ownership, licence blocks, pipelines, offshore fixed and floating platform facilities, SPMs, wells and onshore terminals. The InfieldMaps layers are linked directly back to the information in Infield Systems’ Offshore Energy Database. Geographic layers cover coastlines, country boundaries, longitude and latitude, water depth (bathymetry), major ports, major cities, ports and heliports. Single or multiple data layers can be applied to the base map image. In addition, users have the ability to change the map upon which the data is plotted. ‘Infield background’ provides a simple map outline; streets can be added using Street Map view and there is also the option to select an aerial view with or without streets depending on user preference.
Subscribers to InfieldMaps can choose to subscribe to the complete global map view or to any of the eleven individual regional oil and gas mapping packages (Africa, Arctic Frontiers, Australasia, East Asia, South Asia, South East Asia, Middle East and Caspian, Latin America, North America, South and East Europe or the North West European Continental Shelf (North Sea)).
InfieldMaps can be accessed through any Internet browser and the user can utilise a series of tools to search, download and export maps and data as well upload their own GIS company specific data to integrate and overlay with the InfieldMaps mapping system. It is possible to subscribe to Infield Systems’ Offshore Energy Database data sets and link these to the visual layers on InfieldMaps to create a powerful geographic and data system, or to subscribe to standalone packages to access the visual layers for a simple and quick reference tool for each region.
